Post-Garza County Endowment Grant Story: Post Animal Refuge Center

Post Animal Refuge Center ensures that all animals adopted from their organization are spay/neutered and up to date on shots, heartworm preventatives, and flea/tick treatments with funding from the Post-Garza County Endowment. The Post Animal Refuge Center was founded in 2010 and has placed over 850 animals in their furever homes since then.

A PARC member says that the “medical bills have always been our largest expense as well as the most important” and that the “only solution to the problem of unwanted animals is spay and neuter.” The organization believes that placing an unaltered or unhealthy dog into a home only adds to the problem.

PARC advocates for stray animals in the Post community and continue to fight the problem of unwanted, abused, and abandoned animals. The nonprofit states that with “the support of CFWT and the people who support us from Post and the surrounding area, we will help those who can’t help themselves.”
